- Fields on paper forms don’t map to the standard SAP data structure
- Fields on the form are spread across many different screens on a standard mobile solution
- Advanced fields like signature, location, formulae are not supported
- Features like skip logic, show/hide fields, and dependent dropdowns are not supported.
How does it work?
Using ODS Dynamic Form Engine add-on, businesses using or looking to use SAP Asset Manager for mobile maintenance can create bespoke form templates. These forms are then tagged with SAP objects like work order type, task list, etc. to represent when and where the form needs to be filled.
Forms can be marked as mandatory or optional and it is even possible to set the number of times a form can be completed?
The form engine supports all standard controls like radio-button, dropdown, text, date, time, etc., but also includes advanced controls like location, picture, barcode, audio, etc. You don’t need to be a programmer to design these forms, anyone with basic computer skills can design the forms using a drag and drop editor.
The data that is gathered on mobile is stored in a structured format in the SAP backend system for further analysis.
