This new certification also demonstrates that we apply the same cybersecurity principles we advocate for our customers.
While the certification is new, our commitment to cybersecurity is not. As an enterprise mobility IT consultancy and SAP Gold Partner, we work with organisations internationally across industries including energy and utilities, manufacturing, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals. Since ODS was founded in 2011, robust cybersecurity practices have been fundamental to how we operate. Cyber Essentials now provides recognised assurance of the technical controls we have in place.
What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed certification scheme developed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). It helps organisations protect themselves against common internet-based cyber threats by implementing five key technical controls: firewalls, secure configuration, security update management, user access control and malware protection.
For Cyber Essentials certification, organisations complete a self-assessment against the scheme’s requirements, which is then independently assessed by a Certification Body.
What does our certification mean?
The Cyber Essentials Certificate of Assurance confirms that we have met the technical control requirements within the scope of our certification. For our customers and partners, it provides recognised assurance of the fundamental cybersecurity controls we have implemented.
Cybersecurity is an ongoing responsibility
Technology continues to evolve, as do cyber threats. Maintaining appropriate cybersecurity controls therefore requires continued attention rather than being a one-off exercise.
